ANNOUNCEMENTS (PLEASE READ TO STUDENTS)

 

****High School Homecoming Week****Go Bulldogs!!!!

Special thanks to Ms. Phyllis Gearin and the High School Student Council for everything they have done and will do throughout the week to make this fun-filled week possible!

 

*High School students will be meeting in homerooms during schedule B today to sign up for homecoming activities.

 

*Junior High Beta Club meeting during schedule B in Ms. Jessica’s room.

 

*High School Cheerleaders will be meeting in Ms. Lori’s room during break today.

 

*See you at the Pole will be this Wednesday beginning at 7:15.

 

*Our annual “Walk to School” will be on Wednesday, October 3rd. We will be meeting at Williams Funeral home at 7:15 and walk to school from there. Teachers and students are invited to join in the walk!

 

*High School Beta members who plan on attending state convention….your final balance will be due on September 26th.

 

*BSN Sports will be here on September 26th, at 8:00, to take G-Jacket orders. Students….order forms are in the office.

*This Saturday, September 29th, FCA will be sponsoring an ALS Cornhole tournament to benefit Scott Stewart.

*Seniors, with Fall Break just two weeks away, now is the time to schedule College Visits. Contact the admissions office at the college or university you are interested in learning more about. TCAT in McKenzie and in Paris welcome high school students while classes are in session. Juniors, this is also a good time for you to make campus visits.

 

*UTM will be hosting a Preview Day on Saturday, October 6, 2018. To register for their Preview Day, visit www.utm.edu/preview. Juniors and Seniors are welcome to attend.

 

*Seniors, remember to sign up for the TN Promise Scholarship opportunity by going to www.tnpromise.gov. Every senior should take advantage of this last dollar scholarship program.

*Monday, September 24: America Day (hats allowed)

*Tuesday, September 25: RockyTop Tuesday (wear orange)

*Wednesday, September 26: Tacky Tourist Day (hats allowed)

*Thursday, September 27: Color Wars

**Freshman: wear black

**Sophomores: wear white

**Juniors: wear orange

**Seniors: wear gray

Friday, September 28: Extreme Spirit Day (at least 3 articles of school colored (orange & black) clothing

 

 

GHS Homecoming Week Special Announcements:

 

*Monday, September 24: Schedule B (Activity Period)-students will meet in homerooms to sign up for homecoming activities.

*Thursday, September 27:

**10:30-11:20 Walking Practice-(high school football field)

**11:25-12:25 Teachers and students report to the football bleachers for activities.

**12:25 Students use field house restrooms to wash up for lunch. Students will need to enter the cafeteria through the single door by the salad bar. Football team, managers, coaches, cheerleaders, royalty eat first, then remaining seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshman. **Lunch 12:30-12:55**

**1:00 Activities resume on the football field. Teachers: Bus students may be dismissed at 2:50; however, hold all other students until the buses have left the parking lot.

*Friday, September 28:

**2:20 High school teachers and students report to the football bleachers for pep rally and cheerleader routine. Bus students will be dismissed at 2:50; however, hold all other students until the buses have left the parking lot.

**9:30-11:30 p.m. GHS Homecoming Dance in the cafeteria. Students need to enter at the front of the building. Students may purchase dance tickets during high school break beginning on Tuesday. Cost is $5.

*HS Football vs. Lake County at home (7:00)
